Gritter Francona Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Public Affairs Specialist.  All candidates must meet the job experience qualifications and will require to hold a Top Secret (TS) SCI w/ polygraph clearance for the duration of the contract.  Candidates from junior to senior level experience will be considered for this opportunity and placed into the appropriate skill level role based on qualifications and years of experience.

The Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Supports the planning and implementation of a comprehensive public affairs program for the Command
  • Coordinates efforts to inform interested public, to include other agencies, organizations, and command personnel
  • Writes, edits, and prepares news release and programs for press, radio, and television as well as the organization and layout of publications and other informational material used in the public affairs program, ensuring conformation to Command and government guidelines
  • Prepares responses to information requests on assigned programs from the news media, specialized groups, and/or general public; local, state, and federal elected officials; special interest groups, community, and civic organizations
  • Exhibits knowledge of and application of a wide range of oral, written, social, visual communications concepts, principles, policies, practices, methods, applications, techniques, standards, and trends
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and ability to work independently without supervision and in a collaborative group

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in DOD Public Affairs Specialist.

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in political science, or a related discipline OR High School Diploma and five (5) years demonstrated experience as a DOD Public Affairs Specialist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in DOD Public Affairs Specialist.

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in political science, or a related discipline OR High School Diploma and twelve (12) years demonstrated experience as a DOD Public Affairs Specialist.
